More Evidence on the Richat Structure being the Lost city of Atlantis?

The Richat Structure, to many also known as the “Eye of the Sahara” has been claimed by Jimmy Corsetti on his YouTube channel ‘Bright Insight’ with compelling arguments to be the resting place of the lost city of Atlantis. To all of those unfamiliar with the topic, I suggest everyone to go watch his latest YouTube video on the topic to get more insight into what I will be talking about in this article.

To sum his video up, Corsetti claims the lost city of Atlantis to have been situated where the Richat Structure is now, he uses ancient maps and texts, and modern day geology among others to argue so. His hypothesis is that the city was home to an advanced civilization that was capable of using technology in a similar fashion to modern day humans and was destroyed by a cataclysmic event- the Younger Dryas- A meteor that hit the earth 11.600 years ago and caused massive flooding all around the world as documented in several religious texts and myths.

In fascination of this topic I started watching more YouTube videos, that talk about the topic of an ancient lost civilization. I stumbled upon a lecture by Graham Hancock:

Graham Hancock Video

In the lecture, Hancock talks about evidence of an advanced global lost ancient civilization, just like Corsetti does in many other of his videos and uses findings- geology, ancient texts and maps to do so.

During his lecture at minute 46:50 he shows us the Piri Reis map. A map made by a Turkish General that established this map using more than 100 older source maps that were in very bad condition in the late 15th/early 16th century.

Piri Reis Map

The interesting thing Hancock points out among others is that the map shows Antarctica and South America melted into one another as they looked during the last ice age. Bear in mind also that Piri Reis during the recreation of the map could not have known about Antarctica, since is has only been discovered by modern day civilization in 1818, which indicates that Piri Reis might have used maps predating our civilization to create this map.

Piri Reis Map: West Coast of Africa

When looking at the map, what really stood out to me was the West Coast of Africa and the location of where Corsetti claims Atlantis to be. The map as to where the Richat Structure is today shows a river surrounding a sort of temple, which could indicate a city, which could in turn be the lost city of Atlantis.

Putting the dots together, using Plato’s description of the city- a city with three rings of water, which we also see in the Richat Structure today (without the water) and in this ancient map in a more simplified form, with all the other evidence like texts and geological findings and other forms of documentation, we come closer to finding out whether or not this is the resting place of the lost city of Atlantis. A definitive answer is yet not possible, however, with more evidence coming forward the arguments in favor of the hypothesis being true, keep compiling.
